Two senior leaders at the Online NHS Trust, the digital-first organisation tasked with delivering England’s ‘online hospital’, have been confirmed as keynote speakers for Digital Health Rewired 2027.

Dame Caroline Clarke, chief executive, and Pete Sinden, chief digital and information officer at the Online NHS Trust are the first confirmed keynotes for the event, which takes place on 16-17 March 2027 at NEC Birmingham.

The Online NHS Trust, which was first announced by former prime minister Keir Starmer in September 2025, was established on 1 June 2026.

It is intended to deliver virtual elective care across England from the end of 2027, with the aim of providing millions of virtual appointments and assessments in its first three years.

Dame Clarke was appointed as chief executive of the trust in August, having held the position of regional director for London at NHS England where she oversaw a programme of transformation and improvement for health services across the capital.

Sinden was appointed as chief digital information officer at the trust in September, bringing more than 30 years of experience in building and scaling digital capabilities across healthcare, genomics and regulation.

According to the Online NHS Trust, Sinden has led the programme’s digital work since its early stages, including developing national partnerships, governance arrangements and technical infrastructure.

At Rewired 2027, the pair will discuss the leadership, operating model and digital infrastructure required to establish the trust and deliver virtual elective care nationally.

The two-day conference will feature sessions on digital transformation, AI, patient experience and cyber security across health and social care.

The event’s ‘agenda at a glance’ includes sessions exploring patient experience as a measure of digital transformation, patients’ perceptions of AI and the growing administrative burden on patients.

Other topics include patient-clinician interactions in an AI era, patient-generated data, and the role of cyber resilience in patient safety.

Digital Health Rewired 2027 is free to attend for NHS, public sector professionals and charities, and delegates will earn CPD points for attending. Commercial delegate tickets start at £789 plus VAT.
