The Patients Association named new Digital Health Rewired official charity

The Patients Association — which campaigns for improvements in health and social care for patients — has been announced as the new charity partner for Digital Health Rewired 2027.

Running 16–17 March 2027 at the NEC in Birmingham, Rewired is the essential show for digital, data and technology professionals working across health and social care.

The collaboration aims to ensure that patient empowerment is at the heart of digitally enabled care.

The Patients Association will support the conference programme's development with patient engagement a core theme running across the nine stages.

Once again, Rachel Powers, Chief Executive of The Patients Association will be one of the most anticipated speakers at Rewired 2027.

“Digital technology has real potential to improve patients’ experiences of health and care, but that potential will only be realised if patients are involved in shaping how it is developed and used. Too often, decisions about healthcare are made without enough consideration of what matters to the people who rely on those services.

“We’re delighted to be the official charity partner for Digital Health Rewired 2027. It’s an opportunity to bring patients’ experiences and perspectives into conversations about the future of digital health, helping to ensure that innovation works for patients, builds trust and improves care.”

The recently published 'agenda at a glance' revealed sessions covering patient experience as a core transformation metric, patients' perceptions of AI, the increasing admin burden on patients, the patient-clinician interaction in an AI era, patient generated data, and cyber resilience for patient safety.

Chris Marsom, head of marketing at Digital Health, said:

"It is vital that the patient voice is front of mind as NHS modernisation work continues. Rewired will convene thousands of healthcare leaders, clinicians and implementers next March. Our partnership can provide a platform for The Patients Association to ensure patients are part of conversations about the future of digital health."
