Supporting colleagues observing Ramadan during Rewired24
Ahead of Rewired24, programme committee member Misbah Mahmood provides venue information and advice for supporting attendees observing Ramadan at the show.
Rewired24, which runs 12-13 March, this year will be held during the month of Ramadan for our Muslim colleagues.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a time of fasting, prayer, and reflection. During this month, Muslims abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs from dawn until sunset. It is a time for spiritual growth and a time to focus on self-discipline, self-control, and generosity.
Supporting your Muslim colleagues
If you would like to support your colleagues celebrating Ramadan, please consider the following:
- Colleagues may be fasting in daylight hours, which means they may not be able to take on any food or water in those times.
- Colleagues observing Ramadan could benefit from flexibility during some sessions and routines and may need short breaks during the day to rest and recharge.
