My name is Emma Beardsmore I am an Advanced Clinical Practitioner for Badger Medical and Urgent Care provider in Birmingham. I am also a Clinical Lead for Badger responsible for training and education of the workforce in particularly using the Ummanu Software. We use Ummanu in conjunction with Adastra so my role is to ensure all clinicians understand how the systems work and are comfortable using them for their role in our out of hours call centre. I also work as a clinician in this role speaking with and remotely assessing patients who have contacted NHS 111 during the out of hours period. I joined badger during the Covid-19 pandemic where we were providing care at the Birmingham Nightingale setup, I was training as an ACP at this time. I love working in Urgent Care and the challenges it brings, since using the Ummanu system I have broadened my knowledge and vastly increased my competencies in all areas of illness.
