Jonathan is the lead for digital medicines at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. He has over 16 years’ experience as a Clinical Pharmacist, in both the Private and NHS sectors. Jonathan functioned as an Oncology Pharmacist and Medicine Safety Officer for a number of years before moving ‘up north’ in 2014 to work as an informatics pharmacist. Since this time, Jonathan has gained a wide area of experience in transformational projects; utilising both data and analytics, as well as digital systems and processes, to improve patient experience and safety.

Jonathan is most enthusiastic about the importance and utilisation of data to improve patient experience and safety. Recently Jonathan gained an InnovateUK Grant to develop tools to support pharmacy processes utilising data to allow the correct professional review the most appropriate patient in a timely manner.

In addition to Jonathan’s role at Mid Yorkshire Hospital, he is also deputy chair of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics Digital Medicines Professional Interest Group, a group providing peer support for Informatic Pharmacists as well as expert views and opinions to all working in the digitisation of medicine management processes. As part of this Jonathan co-chairs the Safety and Optimisation working group of the professional interest group working to provide national advice and support in the safe optimisation of digital systems.
