Rewired 2021 Day One – key sessions to look out for
The 2021 edition of Digital Health Rewired will kick off in March with the Interoperability and Digital Responses to Covid-19 Summits.
The 2021 virtual edition of Digital Health Rewired will kick off in March with the Interoperability and Digital Responses to Covid-19 Summits.
Monday, 15 March will start with the Interoperability Summit which will delve into the fundamental challenge of delivering joined up health and care services.
Key sessions will be Grahame Grieve, the creator of FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), who will be speaking about the rapid evolution of FHIR and the need for interoperability in healthcare to empower citizens.
Grieve will be joined by Irina Bolychevsky, NHSX’s new director of standards and interoperability, who will update delegates on the next steps in the NHS’s drive for interoperability.
Health informatics company Alcidion are the sponsors of the Interoperability Summit and their chief medical officer Dr Malcolm Pradhan will be speaking from 9.30-9.40am about innovation though interoperability.
Alcidion is also recommending attendees do not miss Grieve’s keynote on all things FHIR, which starts at 9.05am.
Away from the Interoperability Summit, Alcidion suggests Neil Perry’s session on getting AI adopted at scale is one to watch. The CIO at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust will be speaking at 10.10am on day three (Wednesday, March 17).
Analysing digital responses to Covid-19
The afternoon of March 15 will be the Digital Responses to Covid-19 Summit. The summit will showcase how a diverse range of digital technologies have been used to help health and care respond to Covid-19. Sessions will be delivered as a series of short videos of best practice case-studies and lightning talks, alongside interactive break-out sessions.
The Summit is sponsored by clinical communications company Vocera and will kick off at 1.25pm with an introduction from Saffron Cordery, director of policy and strategy and deputy CEO at NHS Providers, followed by a session on the digital journey of trust boards.
Other notable sessions include:
- Transforming consultations – from 0 to 100,000 in 9 months, featuring Mike Ogonovsky, assistant director of informatics at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and Sara Khalil, programme lead at TEC Cymru (2.35pm)
- Covid-19 shows the life-saving potential of working in real-time, featuring Sandra Shannon – deputy chief executive and COO at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Gerard Dunstan, principal – Europe of GE Healthcare Command Centers (2.40pm)
- EPR Go-live in the year of Covid – a story of perseverance and teamwork!, featuring Dr Chris Mulgrew, CCIO and consultant nephrologist at Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (3.30pm)
The first day of Rewired will also see the first of the Pitchfest heats as the first round up digital health startups battle it out for a place in the final. The quickfire heats start at 12.30pm.
