Building digital and operational teams to drive sustainable change

In this session we will explore transforming the ways in which we work and the pathways to address the recruitment and retention challenges in the NHS. BCS and FEDIP will launch the new national occupational architecture for digital, data and technology roles and provide practical guidance on how they can be used.

Disparity in grading of similar digital data and tech roles and lack of career pathways have led to recruitment and retention challenges in the NHS. To address this the Federation of Informatics Professionals (FEDIP) are launching an occupational architecture – skills-based job role profiles spanning the entire profession – which have been developed with professional body members, BCS, AphA, IHRIM and CILIP. This session will cover how the role profiles were developed and what they are, will provide practical tips on how they can be used and a case study of their use in Wales. DrDoctor will then share how digital leaders can bridge the gap between technology and culture, ensuring that the workforce is equipped with the skills, mindset, and structures required to be more productive and efficient with these digital tools.
