William Monaghan

William began his NHS career in 2008 building his foundation in operational leadership across emergency, urgent, and routine care in major teaching hospitals. He has overseen significant investment programmes and led the elective care transformation programme within an Integrated Care System. With a passion for evidence-based healthcare and using data and technology to drive change, Will became Head of Delivery for NHS England's Chief Data Officer. His transformational expertise led him to NHSX as Director of Operations overseeing the delivery of national programmes and funding settlements. He finished his time in NHSE as the Transition Director merging NHSX, NHS Digital, and NHS England. Will currently serves as Group Chief Digital Information Officer for University Hospitals of Leicester and University Hospitals of Northamptonshire, leading the transformation of digital services for 30,000 colleagues serving nearly 2 million patients. He speaks regularly on digital transformation and contributes to national strategy through the Secretary of State's AI Advisory Board, the national FDP steering committee, and as an advisor to Imperial's Digital Health Leadership programme.
