The use of AI software is an integral part of the National Optimal Stroke Imaging Pathway (NOSIP). Published as part of the National Stroke Service Model in May 2021, this pathway has been designed to guide the efficient use of radiology resources, reducing duplication. Read More

The NOSIP puts the patients’ rapid need of appropriate brain and vessel imaging acquisition and interpretation front and centre of the initial assessment when a stroke is suspected. Artificial intelligence features prominently as decision support and is considered to be of significant benefit in improving access to both thrombolytic therapy and mechanical thrombectomy for patients.
