Humanoid robots to feature at Digital Health Rewired 2026

Digital Health Rewired 2026 attendees will have a chance to see a live demonstration of humanoid robots that could revolutionise NHS patient care.
Miroki robots are being deployed to support patients and clinical staff as part of a collaboration between Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and King’s College London.
At Rewired 2026, Denis Lafitte, chief digital information officer at GSTT, and Dr Oya Celiktutan, AI and robotics expert at King’s College London, will discuss early use cases from the deployment at GSTT, which is the first hospital site in the UK to use the technology.
They will also share about the latest work in the adoption of humanoid robotics in the NHS and the wider lessons on the power of partnerships between the NHS and universities.
Developed by the company Enchanted Tools, Miroki is designed to reduce anxiety in young patients, improve their cooperation during treatment sessions, and ultimately contribute to better overall care by providing comfort, distraction, and emotional connection.
GSTT’s initial deployment focuses on robots supporting logistics, including reception wayfinding and transporting items from the pharmacy to wards or patients. In time, this will expand to more personalised patient-facing interactions throughout the treatment journey.
In September 2025, Miroki was officially authorised to accompany children inside radiotherapy rooms during treatment sessions in France – a world-first in paediatric oncology.
Meanwhile, NHS England directors Rachel Hope and Liz Clow have also been confirmed for Rewired 2026, where they will discuss the development of national digital products shaping the shift to prevention.
The pair will present on the Digital Transformation main stage on 24 March 2026, revealing the priorities for the Digital Prevention Service following the recent £45m contract award to improve access to vaccinations and screenings through the NHS App and accelerate the delivery of personalised care.
