Ameena Westwood
Founder, Let's Talk Hope Cancer Support Group
Ameena Westwood is a Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer patient and founder of YCA’s Let’s Talk Hope cancer support group. Living with advanced breast cancer and a BRCA2 gene mutation, she has spent the past eight years supporting individuals and families affected by cancer, particularly within underserved communities. Through her own experience of navigating complex treatment pathways, Ameena understands the emotional and practical impact of how information is shared with patients. Having worked alongside Dr Jonathan Gregory on a piece of work about end-of-treatment summaries, she has been invited to Rewired to bring a lived-experience perspective. Ameena is passionate about ensuring technology in healthcare supports clarity, empowerment and continuity of care - working with patients, not just around them.
