Advancements for early intervention and diagnostics using AI

This session explores how AI is transforming cancer care through both NHS-led innovation and advanced data-driven approaches. Drawing on work from The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Lothian, speakers will showcase in-house radiotherapy AI tools and AI models that analyse electronic health records to detect conditions like cancer cachexia earlier and more accurately. Together, these examples highlight how combining local expertise, rich datasets, and cutting-edge AI can address unmet clinical needs, improve diagnosis, and enable more personalised, efficient care, while reflecting on the challenges of real-world implementation.
