Ifan Evans
Executive Director of Digital Strategy, Digital Health & Care Wales
Ifan Evans has fifteen years of board level experience in government and the NHS, leading strategy, planning, and enterprise architecture. As Director of Digital Strategy at DHCW he leads several major NHS Wales transformation programmes, including the NHS Wales App, Digital Diagnostics, Digital Medicines, National Architecture, and the National Data Resource. Previously in Welsh Government he reported to the CEO NHS Wales, leading technology, transformation and strategy, responsible for an annual budget of £250 million. He was SRO for A Healthier Wales, the national strategy for health and care, co-ordinating preparations for leaving the European Union across health and social care, and the digital response to the Covid pandemic. He led the establishment of Life Sciences Hub Wales, Health Technology Wales, and Digital Health & Care Wales. Professor Evans is a recognised thought leader, passionate about making digital a force for good, helping people to work smarter, improving health services, and delivering better outcomes. He is a BCS Fellow, was a finalist for UK Digital Leader of the Year 2024, member of the HIMSS Digital Health Advisory Group for Europe, and a regular guest lecturer and conference speaker.
