In this session, Dr Nicola Byrne will talk about the importance of ensuring that ambitious intentions for data don’t outpace the public’s understanding and expectations about how their data is being used, by whom and for what purposes. She will outline some of the key conditions that the public consistently tell us we must meet if we are to earn their trust, confidence and the ‘social license’ to use their data to support innovation, research and planning.
