Gerhold, Malte

Dr Malte Gerhold joined the Health Foundation in May 2022 as Director of Innovation and Improvement. Malte leads the Foundation’s work to support radical innovation and improvement in health and care services, including through new technologies data, and AI. His portfolio includes work to enable change in care through policy insights, practical resources and grant funding, alongside multi-year institutional investments. He was previously Chief Integrated Care Officer at digital start-up Birdie, Executive Director of Strategy and Intelligence at the Care Quality Commission, and has worked abroad and in the UK in the Department of Health, the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit, and as a strategy consultant. He is a director of Thiscovery, a start-up supported by the Health Foundation, and also a trustee of the Alzheimer’s Society.
