Mulholland, Michael

Michael started his career in health and social care as a nurse, training and working in New Haven, Connecticut, before returning N. Ireland. Finding that his interest lay more in the social care and welfare of patients, he made a career change and retrained as a social worker. He has worked in social care now for 35 years, and with the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust for over 30 years; 10 years of that was in community learning disability before moving to children’s safeguarding.

Michael has covered a range of roles in social work, from practitioner, team manager, principal social worker, safeguarding service manager, and his current role of Chief Information Officer for Social Work and Social Care. Here he has led on the design and implementation of encompass, the world’s first fully integrated health and social care operating system powered by Epic.
