
Dr Qasim Malik
Academic Clinical Fellow/AI Fellow, University of Birmingham
Dr Qasim Malik is a paediatric doctor and NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow at the University of Birmingham working in artificial intelligence and digital health. Following his AI fellowship his research has focussed on the safety evaluation of AI in healthcare and the regulation of large language models (LLMs). He is founding co-lead of the AI Youth Council, bringing children and young people together to shape how AI is developed and used in children’s healthcare. He also leads the Digital Health module on the University of Birmingham MBA programme and serves as Vice Chair of the RCPCH Trainee Executive Committee.
