Chief Data and Analytical Officer – East Kent Hospitals NHSFT and NHS Kent and Medway On leaving the management consultancy Experian I joined UCL’s Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis as a senior research fellow, I have since taken Senior Researcher and Honorary Professor roles at UCL and CCCU, my research interests remain geodemography and health outcomes. In 2004 I joined Dr Foster as Director of Product Development where I oversaw the company’s development of tools across clinical benchmarking, financial management and health needs mapping. In 2010 I joined East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where I am Chief Data and Analytical Officer responsible for informatics, Clinical Coding and AI. I am also, jointly, the Chief Data and Analytical Officer for NHS Kent and Medway. I am a graduate of the King’s Fund future leaders course and have been named previously in the HSJ Top 50 Innovators in Health and in 2025 in the list of 100 moist influential people in the NHS. I am the Founder of Beautiful Information, an Analytics consultancy and OpenDataSavesLives, a not for profit research body. In 2023 I established the Chief Data and Analytical Officers Network, hosted by APHA for which I am the national chair. In 2025 I was made president of the Data Observatory, a new healthdata think-tan
