I am a registered nurse with a clinical background in neonatal nursing. My positions have been staff nurse, ward manager and matron through to the role of Chief Nursing Informatics Officer. I have been a CNIO in 3 organisations over the last 8 years, working with varied providers and supporting 3 go lives. I am involved in regional and national groups supporting the digital nursing profile. I am passionate about ensuring nurses have an equal voice in the digital arena to ensure that information systems support nursing and allow more time for patient care, thereby reducing risk and improving quality and safety.

In currently work at Manchester Foundation Trust as Group Chief Nursing Informatics Officer, leading the digital programme for nurses locally, regionally and at national level. I am responsible for strategic and operational nursing leadership in the development, deployment, re-engineering, optimisation and integration of clinical information systems to support nursing and patient care.
