Rewired 2021 Day Three – key sessions to look out for

From putting patients at the heart of care to how the NHS has worked with tech giants – there is plenty happening at day three of Rewired.

Rewired Day Three

From putting patients at the heart of connected care to how the NHS has worked with tech giants on virtual care projects – there will certainly be a lot for delegates to digest on day three of Digital Health Rewired.

Kicking the morning sessions off at 9am on 17 March is the Connected Care Summit chaired by Dr James Reed, CCIO, Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and chair of the Digital Health CCIO Network.

The summit, sponsored by EMIS, includes a number of informative case studies on the evolution of the Great North Care Record; bringing data-driven approaches to primary care; and adopting artificial intelligence at scale.

The key sessions include a talk from Lee Rickles, Yorkshire and Humber Care Record programme director and CIO at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, and Jason Keane, patient chief executive officer at EMIS Group, kicking off at 9.05am.

Get your head in the clouds

If that doesn’t grab your attention, the Cloud and Mobile Summit will be running at the same time giving you plenty of options for the morning.

Chaired by James Rawlinson, CIO at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, the summit also includes talks on nursing mobility and harnessing the power of electronic health records during Covid-19.

A talk will be given by David Price, director UKCloud, at 9.15am on the skills required for digital strategy.

Sponsored by UKCloud Health there will also be a session on the development of the National Data Resource in Wales from Chris Habberley, senior project manager and Paul Howells, programme lead at the National Data Resource.

Both summits also provide attendees with the opportunity for Q&A sessions and networking.

Talking all things virtual care and clinical software

The excitement doesn’t end at lunchtime, there’s a further two summits set to be held in the afternoon.

The Virtual Care Summit, sponsored by Orion Health, will begin at 1.30pm and will include a number of case studies and lightning talks on patient portals, wearable technology, online clinics and digital consultations.

The keynote session at 1.35pm will be given by Prof Joe Harrison, chief executive at Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, on working with Apple to provide patients with mobile access to their electronic health records.

Over on the Clinical Software Summit, you can hear from the Summit’s sponsor, TPP. CEO and founder, Frank Hester, will be speaking from 1.35pm.

Lighting talks and case studies will cover topics including closed loop medicine processes; improving system wide interoperability; digital outpatient follow ups; and brining nursing into the 21st century.

The day will end with a rising star session in the Clinical Software Summit, kicking off at 5.05pm.

Hear from:

  • Ramandeep Kaur – EPMA Lead Pharmacist, Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust
  • David Pao – PhD Student, Innovation Design Engineering – Royal College of Art
  • Haris Shuaib – Clinical Scientist, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
  • Carmen Chung – Deputy Chair & Innovation Programme Officer, Warwick SMT

The third day of Rewired will also include the third round of the Pitchfest heats as the next round up digital health startups battle it out for a place in the final. The quickfire heats start at 12.30pm.
